Hi all,
I am addicted to making things from my Japanese Pattern Books at the moment.
I just finished this lovely little dress.
I have to say that these patterns are unreal. They are precision. Every piece matches up perfectly. I guess you expect that with things that are Japanese. Alway top quality.
The most time consuming thing about making this dress was tracing the pattern pieces. Once this was done, the rest was a breeze. I will definately be making another one of these in the future.
Totally cute dress! :) Awesome job!
ReplyDeleteThanks Vanessa. It's a very smart looking dress, isn't it.
ReplyDeleteThis is adorable. Those Japanese sewing books scare me a bit, but maybe I'll have to try them sometime in the future!
ReplyDeleteAh, this is adorable! (came here via Sew Much Ado) I've been leery of the Japanese Pattern books, but have heard so many rave reviews I may just have to check 'em out.
ReplyDeleteHi J-Han and Caralyn. If you know basic sewing skills you would be able to understand Japanese Pattern Books. The pictures explain it all. But just note that all measurements are done in cm not inches :)
ReplyDeleteThat is really adorable!
ReplyDeleteThis dress is awesome. I love the dots. Tell me more about the Japanese Pattern Books...
ReplyDeleteI am now following your blog and would love a follow back if you have a chance!
I have been too scared to try a pattern from a Japanese book that I have! This is precious though!
ReplyDeleteI would love to have you link up to my linky. Creative Me Monday, when you get the chance. It's open M-Sat. Here's the link!

Hi cookieandclaire,
ReplyDeletethe pattern books are great. They come with full size pattern pieces and have heaps of patterns in each book. It is great that there are boy and girl pattern in each book. The sizing is european and there are such pretty and unusual patterns that you know you probably wont see another child wearing the same outfit as yours.
Hi Jenny, I'll check it out tomorrow :-)
ReplyDeleteSherry, this dress is fabulous! I have so many Japanese pattern books but haven't tried them but I'm going to now!!! Thanks for your sweet comment on the corners of my needle book!!! I try! ;)
ReplyDeletexoxo. amy
This is adorable! I don't know if I'd be game to try a pattern with instructions I couldn't read.
